Biography

I love the world of fishing, shipping and navigation and produce work with strong nautical themes. I use fine detail specifications, measurements and text from ships, boats, harbours using them as a platform upon which to build an image. The presence of gridding and engineering shorthand in my work echoes the blueprints used in the design and production of ships, lighthouses etc.

Using grid-work I build up an image constructed from simplified, balanced geometric shaps and sparse composition. I work with oil pastel to complement the fine details to give the work texture & softness and screenprinting, letraset to apply the details and text.
